Mormon Graffiti

To mutter "Salt Lake City" tends to garner many a Mormon joke, slur or similar. Typically, I'd protest with facts about our large LGBT population and higher-than-average amount of microbreweries. But when Eric and I drove along 1300 East in Sandy yesterday and saw this, our cheeks turned red in embarrassment for our religiously stereotyped state. Yes, ladies and gents, you're about to witness some Mormon graffiti.

Not only is our state full of bored missionaries with spraycans (joke), but an exceedingly suspicious police force. Not 10 seconds after I had stepped out of the car to snap this photo on my camera phone did a police car whiplash behind me; the officer stepping out and advancing toward me. "Do you know anything about this?" she asked in her most accusing tone. "No, I just find it funny; it's a total paradox," I answer, unsuccessfully trying to hold back chuckles.

"Well," she relentingly said, "You ought to see the one up the street. It's even better."

And that, is how we found this one.

Only in Utah.
